Growing up in this environment rich in culture and traditions, as well as breathtaking natural scenery like the Alps, has had a big impact on who I am as a person today.

I am still a student myself at Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich, where I study School Psychology and English. Part of my English studies is a stay abroad. Because of my Fulbright scholarship, I am now fortunate enough to spend this period of time at Bates College as both the German Teaching Assistant and as a student.

I participated as a mentor in a program that supports American students during their semester abroad in Munich. This further strengthened my existing interest in spending time abroad in the U.S. myself.

A big interest of mine is to travel and explore different cultures, cuisines and traditions. Last year I went on a solo trip throughout Southeast Asia, which really helped me grow as a person. So if you have any recommendations for Maine or other US states, let me know!

In addition, I already have experience teaching languages, as I have tutored others in German, English, and French. Now I’m looking forward to my role as a German teaching assistant and to further developing my skills and knowledge.

I‘m happy to share the language and culture of Germany, but also current trends, music or movies with you. Personally, I always find it easier and more interesting to learn a new language when you are not only confronted with grammar rules and vocabulary, but also get a sense of what really lies behind the language and the culture. And that’s exactly what I’m here for!

Please don’t hesitate to contact me at any time. I‘m happy to help as well as to hear your ideas and feedback!

Teresa Bauer, 2026-27 Fulbright Teaching Assistant in German

2026-27 Fulbright Teaching Assistant in German Roger Williams Hall, Room 228tbauer@bates.edu Hi…

"_batesModPostContentOverride_append_before_footer":false
["post-2565","page","type-page","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry
["GET
