The recent surge in applications for admission to Bates suggests that we are offering something prospective students are looking for: a liberal arts experience that encourages curiosity and innovation and prepares students to engage the larger forces shaping our world.

We challenge our students—in the classroom, on the playing field, in studios, and in labs. We give them opportunities to work with inspiring professors, engage with their communities, and learn from one another. We help them align who they are with what they do, and consider how they want to move through the world.

In all these ways and more, we offer an educational experience that is uniquely Bates—and made possible by your generosity.
