2018 Bates Fall Semester Abroad in Germany
Spend Fall 2018 in Berlin studying modern German and Russian politics and society with two Bates professors.
The Fall Semester Abroad program in Berlin consists of 4 courses: Ideology and Politics in Germany and Russia (Professor Richter) and Everyday Life Under Hitler and Stalin (Professor Browne); a seminar series of lectures about Berlin by host country scholars and activists; and a German or Russian language course. The Berlin experience:
Academic Excursions: Regular academic excursions within Berlin and Germany are an integral part of the program as is an extended excursion to Russia (Moscow and St. Petersburg).
Housing: Students live in home stays with families in Berlin.
