The Off-Campus Study Committee and Center for Global Education welcome concept proposals from faculty for Off-Campus Short Term courses, two years in advance. The purpose of these non-binding early concept proposals is to help inform the Off-Campus Study Committee about advanced planning, allow for some confirmation for programs\/departments, and so that faculty can start their planning earlier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– May 2026: Proposals for Short Term 2027 and Concept Proposals for Short Term 2028 due.
– June 2026: Short Term 2027 proposal decisions made. Concept Proposals for Short Term 2028 discussed and given provisional approval.
– Fall 2026-Winter 2027: Faculty with approved concept proposals work on their proposals with Global Education and their program\/department.
– May 2027: Approved concept proposals are submitted meeting the guidelines outlined for proposals<\/a>, having received early assurance for consideration.
Concept Proposal Requirements:<\/strong>
Please submit the following for review by the Off-Campus Study Committee and the Academic Affairs Council.
Project Statement<\/strong>: A 1-to 2-page description of the Short Term course, that includes description of faculty familiarity with the destination and existing local connections. It should also include an early safety and security assessment of the location\/s and related considerations and a proposed staffing plan or use of an on-site provider. Please indicate if you have discussed this course and the timing with your program\/department chair and how this fits into the curriculum plans for your program\/department.
