{"id":46,"date":"2010-03-10T04:24:02","date_gmt":"2010-03-10T04:24:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bateswebstage3.wordpress.com\/?page_id=46"},"modified":"2024-12-09T13:09:04","modified_gmt":"2024-12-09T18:09:04","slug":"opportunities","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/global-education\/facultyresources\/opportunities\/","title":{"rendered":"Teaching and Study Opportunities Abroad"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><strong>Teaching Opportunities Abroad<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cies.org\/us_scholars\/\">Fulbright Program<\/a><\/strong> offers short and long term international teaching opportunities.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/disabroad.org\/us-faculty-and-advisors\/become-a-visiting-faculty-member\/\"><strong>DIS\u00a0<\/strong><\/a>offers the opportunity to teach one course at their program in Copenhagen.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.associatedkyotoprogram.org\/visiting-faculty-fellowships\/\">AKP (Associated Kyoto Program)<\/a><\/strong> offers the opportunity to teach one course at Doshisha\u00a0University in Kyoto.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><br \/>\nAcademic Resources<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p id=\"work-title\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fulcrum.org\/concern\/monographs\/gb19f7872?locale=en\">Faculty as Global Learners: Off-Campus Study at Liberal Arts Colleges<\/a> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;This co-authored collection offers valuable insights about the impact of leading off-campus study on faculty leaders\u2019 teaching, research, service, and overall well-being. Recognizing that faculty leaders are themselves global learners, the book addresses ways that liberal arts colleges can more effectively achieve their strategic goals for students&#8217; global learning by intentionally anticipating and supporting the needs of faculty leaders, as they grow and change.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Study Opportunities Abroad<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Several study abroad programs organize summer seminars\/workshops at their study abroad sites.
