The PROJECTS FOR PEACE<\/strong> program is an invitation to undergraduates at the participating colleges and universities in the Davis United World College Scholars Program to design grassroots projects that they will implement during summer break. At Bates, we hold information sessions in October and applications are due to the campus Projects for Peace Committee in early January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every year, 125 or more student leaders are each awarded $10,000 grants to implement a Project for Peace, typically between May and August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program encourages young adults to develop innovative, community-centered, and scalable responses to the world\u2019s most pressing issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Along the way, these student leaders increase their knowledge, improve their skills, and begin to see themselves as agents of change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
