I first connected with Rosati through Bates professor Yun Garrison\u2019s psychology course in community-based research. Alongside Luke Singer \u201926 and Lindsey Aten \u201926, I was tasked with researching how the program influences students’ social-emotional learning. As part of our research, we attended weekly Rosati practices at Conner\u2019s Elementary School. What immediately stood out to me was the other group of Bates students who showed up independently to volunteer, connect, and have fun with the kids.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At first glance, Rosati is a high energy after-school soccer program. However, through our research we learned that in this program, the soccer ball is actually a tool for holistic development. The program integrates “life sessions” directly into practice, teaching elementary and middle school students:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
