How do I install an Academic Network Printer on my computer?

Windows 7:

  • Click on the Windows Start Button.
  • In the Start Menuclick in the Search programs and files.
  • Type in the following: \\hudson and press the Return Key.
  • A list of all the Academic Printers available to you will be presented to you in a Window
    • Printers are named by the abbreviation of the building there are located in, the room number they are physically located, plus a sequence letter.
    • Example: A printer in Pettengill Hall, RM 329 would be named PGILL-329-A. Additional printers in that location would be represented by an incremented sequence letter.

  • Find the printer you want to install and double-click on it to begin the installation. 

Mac OS X:

  • Click on Finder to open the Applications Folder.
  • Locate and double-click the App Self Service.
  • Using your Bates Network Credentials, login to Self Service.
    • Note: Installation of the Pgrew-208-B printer requires an additional step.
      • On the right side of the Window, locate the Categories Menu and click on Print drivers.
      • Click on the Install button to install the HP Printer Drivers.

  • On the right side of the Window, locate the Categories Menu and click on Hudson Printers.
  • A list of all the Adademic Printers available to you will be presented to you in a Window
    • Printers are named by the abbreviation of the building there are located in, the room number they are physically located, plus a sequence letter.
      • Example: A printer in Pettengill Hall, RM 329 would be named PGILL-329-A. Additional printers in that location would be represented by an incremented sequence letter.

  • Click the Install button to install the printer.
