I need to move my computer to another location. What are the steps I should take?

When moving your computer (and other connected equipment), please email the IT Service Desk (helpdesk@bates.edu) with the following information:

  • The full name and username of the person of who the equipment is assigned to.
  • A list of all the asset tags (Atags – A12345) and brief description of the equipment to be moved.
    • Example: A12345 – Monitor, A12346 – Dell Laptop, A12347 – HP Deskjet Printer

  • The location of where the equipment can be found.
  • The location of where the equipment is to be relocated.
  • A preferred date and time to schedule the move.
  • The name and contact information (phone and email address) of the move coordinator.
