What are the roles (permissions) available in G Suite Drive?

The following are the permissions/roles that can be assigned in G Suite Drive:

Content Manager, this role is specific to Team Drives.
Content Managers have the ability to perform the following actions: 

  • Cannot modify the membership of a Team Drive
  • View Files and Folders
  • Comment on Files
  • Edit Files
  • Create and Upload Files and Create Folders
  • Add or Remove People as Members of the Team Drive
  • Change Member Permissions
  • Add People to Specific Files
  • Move Files and Folders
  • Delete Files and Folders
  • Restore Files from the Trash

Full Access will be updated to the Manager Role
Managers have the ability to perform the following actions: 

  • View Files and Folders
  • Comment on Files
  • Edit Files
  • Create and Upload Files and Create Folders
  • Add or Remove People as Members of the Team Drive
  • Change Member Permissions
  • Add People to Specific Files
  • Move Files and Folders
  • Delete Files and Folders
  • Restore Files from the Trash

Edit Access will be updated to the Contributor Role
Contributors have the ability to perform the following actions: 

  • View Files and Folders
  • Comment on Files
  • Edit Files
  • Create and Upload Files and Create Folders
  • Add People to Specific Files
  • Restore Files from the Trash

Comment Access will be updated to the Commenter Role
Commenters have the ability to perform the following actions: 

  • View Files and Folders
  • Comment on Files

View Access will be updated to the Viewer Role
Viewers have the ability to perform the following actions:
