Information and Library Services has received reports of a scam email message that is being delivered to members of the Bates College Community. Please do not respond to this message and delete the message.

- Look closely at the From: email address, this message was sent from an @gmail.com address and not an @bates.edu address.
- If you are not expecting this type of message from the sender, call them to verify the legitimacy of the message/request.
- If you receive an email and suspect it may be a scam, please contact the IT Help Desk immediately.

An email was sent to several people on campus today, and was signed, President Clayton Spencer.
The message included a “pdf” file, titled “doc1234.pdf”. This message is not legitimate. Please delete the message, and do not click the link.
If you are not expecting this type of message from the sender, call them to verify the legitimacy of the message/request.
If you receive an email and suspect it may be a scam, please contact the IT Help Desk immediately.
