To provide equal access, the library purchases copies of all required texts and the films presented in class. Materials can be provided in print, electronic, streaming and physical sound and video formats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to access Course Reserves<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

  1. Click Course Reserves<\/strong> on the\u00a0Library web page<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Search by Instructor Last Name<\/strong>, Course name<\/strong>, or Course Code<\/strong>\n
      \n
    • Enter the code (ENG238), full course title (Jane Austen Then and Now), or the instructor\u2019s last name (Nayder)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Print reserves<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
        \n
      • 2 hour, 24 hour and three day loan periods – at the professor’s request.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Available at the Circulation Desk on the Main floor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Bring your Bates ID card and the call number (from the catalog) for the item you want.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Materials may be taken from the library.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Overnight loans are permitted.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        Audio and video reserves<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

        • Four hour loan period.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Available at the Audio Desk on the Ground floor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • A\/V Reserves may not be removed from the library<\/strong>, except by the faculty who placed them on reserve or for in-class presentation or editing. Please speak with staff at the AV Desk.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Rooms to watch or listen to AV Reserves are booked at the A\/V Desk<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

          Bates purchased E-Reserves – journal articles, books or films<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

            Overdue Course Reserves<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

            As Course Reserves are often in high demand, please make an effort to return materials on time.
