Whether you want to hear Frank Glazer<\/a> play that Beethoven sonata one more time, or Leyla McCalla<\/a>‘s recording with the Carolina Chocolate Drops, the library can help.<\/p>\n

The Bates Library sound recordings collection has a little something for every musical taste:<\/p>\n

Love vinyl? The audio\/video room has thousands of albums — and the turntables to play them. We also have 10,000+ CDs (many of which are rare and out-of-print) and hundreds of thousands of tracks in our streaming databases.<\/p>\n

All of the CDs and LPs are in the library catalog, so it’s easy to find what you’re looking for. Just do a ‘word’ search for a performer, a group, or the name of a song\/composition.<\/p>\n

Although many of our online recordings are not yet available through the catalog, our four biggest databases DRAM<\/a>, Music & Performing Arts Online<\/a>, Naxos Music Library<\/a>, and Naxos Jazz<\/a> allow users to search in ways the catalog doesn’t — by mood, performer, instrument, culture, country, etc.<\/p>\n

Frank Glazer’s historic recording of the Piano Works<\/a> of Erik Satie<\/p>\n

The Brazilian Guitar Quartet’s version of Bach suites<\/a><\/p>\n

“There’s Nothing Quite Like Money<\/a>” featuring the songs of Bertolt Brecht and Hans Eisler, including the Hollywood Songbook (to be featured at Olin on February 7 at 4:30 PM).<\/p>\n

And in advance of visit of Brazil’s Assad Family, try Sergio Assad’s arrangements of the music of Antonio Carlos Jobim<\/a><\/p>\n
