Down and back in a day, she toured the White House and delivered not only comments and congratulations — from Wayne citizens, notes from son Will’s fifth-grade class at Wayne Elementary School, and wishes from daughter Christine (14) — but also took maple syrup from the Stevenson farm and four Maine T-shirts for the First Family. Wendy, director of the MEL-MAC Education Foundation in Portland, worked “tirelessly” for the Bush campaign as Kennebec County co-chair.
