Six different bands were featured, including King Memphis, Brilliant Mistakes, Cindy Bullens, and Lisa Loeb&#8230;. <strong>Joshua Holdeman<\/strong> joined Christie&#8217;s New York as international director and head of the firm&#8217;s New York photographs department and of Christie&#8217;s New York 20th century decorative arts department (in the latter role he&#8217;ll work with <strong>Bevin Cline<\/strong> &#8217;91). He&#8217;ll serve in both a managerial and international business-getting role, with focus on pursuing high-value property and single-owner collections&#8230;. The Univ. of Alaska-Fairbanks Department of Athletics has named <strong>Scott Jerome<\/strong> as the new head men&#8217;s and women&#8217;s cross country and Nordic ski coach. Scott has been head coach at Gustavus Adolphus in St. Peter, Minn., for four years&#8230;. <strong>Lara Rhame<\/strong>, senior foreign exchange economist at Brown Brothers Harriman &amp; Co. in New York, was profiled in the August 2004 issue of <i>Bloomberg Markets<\/i>. She says the prospects for Europe&#8217;s economy are better than most people think. &#8220;The gloominess over the Euro-zone economy is overdone, and Euro-zone growth will accelerate in the second half of the year,&#8221; predicts Rhame, an avid traveler who often incorporates her personal observations into her currency forecasts. Rhame grew more optimistic about Europe&#8217;s economy during a 2003 Paris visit amid nationwide labor strikes. One day she encountered a massive demonstration by protesters calling for an end to the strikes. &#8220;In the U.S., the only stories you read were about the strikes, and it reinforced the notion that the European economy is hopelessly structurally inefficient,&#8221; Rhame says. &#8220;The counterdemonstration undermined my previous notions.&#8221;&#8230; <strong>Sanford Paek<\/strong> has been named sales manager of <i>Business Wire&#8217;s <\/i>&nbsp;Boston office. <i>Business Wire<\/i>&nbsp; electronically disseminates about 1,000 full-text news releases daily to the media, the Internet, online services and databases, and the global investment community in 150 countries in 45 languages&#8230;. <strong>Paola San Martini<\/strong> teaches math at the American Embassy School in New Delhi. She and husband Luke have traveled through India and Asia, along with Luke&#8217;s three children&#8230;.
