Tap out a note to <\/em><a href=\"mailto:magazine@bates.edu\"><em>magazine@bates.edu<\/em><\/a><em>!<\/em> <strong>Suzanne Davidson Newing<\/strong> writes: &#8220;Many medical advances in the field of veterinary medicine make the involvement with animals, mainly dogs and horses, especially interesting.&#8221; She had a visit from my roommate for four years, <strong>Muriel Ulrich Weeks<\/strong>, just before the Reunion. &#8220;We rambled through the 1946 yearbook, recalling wonderful memories.&#8221;&#8230; The class learned with regret of the death of John Stone, husband of <strong>Gracie <\/strong>(<strong>Hal<\/strong>l) on Jan. 24, 2001&#8230; <strong>Erma Rowe Sturgis<\/strong> visited New York City with Deanne to celebrate her birthday and saw many Broadway shows. In May 2001, she writes, &#8220;came a trip to Tennessee to spend with dear old friends who were in Iran with us.&#8221; The fateful events of Sept. 11, she writes in verse, &#8220;Make us all stop and think,\/ How precious is life and love!\/ So let us live each minute &#8212; \/ To the fullest &#8212; with help from above.&#8221;&#8230; <strong>Fran Sudhalter Pliskin<\/strong> reports that she and Irv are fine and enjoying retirement. She had a mini reunion with <strong>Janice Eyges Kaplan<\/strong> &#8217;47.
