Ayer<\/strong> recently learned of the death of his wife, Mary Anne, in April 1998 and send our thoughts to Everett and daughters Elizabeth and Susan…. Getchen Shorter Davis<\/strong> says, “What are the odds of finding five Batesies on one boat in the middle of Lake Michigan? It happened this past summer on an Elderhostel trip. Jerry and I enjoyed the company of Mario<\/strong> and Jill Durland LoMonaco ’54<\/strong> and Emelie Steheli Knoerzer ’49<\/strong>. We figured that almost 7 percent of the 73 people on board represented Bates and were quite delighted to find we had so much in common due to our Bates connection.”…. Laurie Sunderland Sutherland<\/strong> has been working with New Hampshire Charitable Foundation and the James D. Sutherland Memorial Scholarship. Tops on her list are her two grandchildren whose parents are Julie<\/strong> and Halsey Platt ’88<\/strong>. Lisa and Mike Platt are both in graduate school. (Correction: the James D.
