While she was cleaning out her father&#8217;s house, <strong>Ray Harwood&#8217;s<\/strong> niece found the tie Ray wore when he graduated from Bates. &#8220;My dad kept it all this time because he was so proud of his brother being the first to graduate from college,&#8221; she wrote to Ray&#8217;s son, David. David found his uncle&#8217;s thoughts and actions to be &#8220;a wonderful and poignant commentary on the meaning of a college degree to Depression-era children of immigrant parents.&#8221;&nbsp;<strong>Bill Pricher<\/strong> was mentioned in the <em>News-Press<\/em> in Fort Myers, Fla., by columnist Glenn Miller in a year-end wrap-up of memorable figures. Bill showed the writer his scrapbook of athletic achievements from his high school and college years. Bill still works at the Fort Myers Country Club. &#8220;You can&#8217;t sit on your butt all the time and watch television,&#8221; Bill said in the article. <strong>June Sawyer Stevens<\/strong> lives with her 94-year-old sister on the family farm on Hills&#8217; Ridge in Greene. The farm has been in her family since 1808.
