His team advanced to the championships by winning the USTA&#8217;s Mid-Atlantic regional semifinals in October&#8230;. Journalist <strong>Ruth Haskins Bass<\/strong> has been inducted into the New England Press Assn.&#8217;s Community Newspaper Hall of Fame. Ruth is a free-lance writer and photographer and has a regular travel column in a newspaper in Hillsdale, N.Y. She has been a weekly columnist for <em>The Berkshire Eagle<\/em> since 1987, and was a weekly columnist for the Berkshire Sampler from 1980 to 1987. She&#8217;s written for <em>The Boston Globe, Yankee Magazine, Cleveland Plain Dealer<\/em>, and <em>The Day<\/em> of New London, Conn.
