Lindholm, 12 Nelke Pl., Lewiston, ME 04240-5318<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Elsie Gervais<\/strong> escaped part of last winter with a two-month break in Florida&#8230;. <strong>Chick Toomey<\/strong> was elected posthumously to the Manchester (Conn.) Sports Hall of Fame in the fall. He &#8220;won 12 letters in a spectacular athletic career at Bates College,&#8221; read the citation. &#8220;But he is probably best remembered for using a whistle instead of a bat or a hockey stick. For 35 years, Toomey was one of the most respected football officials in the country, where he worked many of college football&#8217;s biggest games.&#8221; Chick officiated the famous Harvard-Yale tie football game in 1968, immortalized in the &#8220;Harvard Beats Yale, 29-29&#8221; headline in the Crimson. &#8220;Most thrilling game I&#8217;ve ever been in,&#8221; he once said.<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Class President: Milton L.
