\nNext Reunion in 2003. Navy Cmdr.\u00a0Robert Ritchie<\/strong> departed in June on a six-month deployment to the Mediterranean Sea and Arabian Gulf aboard the aircraft carrier USS\u00a0Dwight D. Eisenhower.<\/em> Ritchie is among 5,000 sailors and Marines aboard the ship, which departed its home port of Norfolk, Va. The ship’s battle group includes ten tactical air squadrons, seven surface combatants, and two submarines….\u00a0Susan Stucke Funk<\/strong> is the project manager for the Exploring Amistad Web Site (amistad.mysticseaport.org) at Mystic (Conn.) Seaport Museum, a wide-ranging Web site with volumes of information on the Amistad event. “The site is based on a significant digital library of primary sources,” said Funk. “This was in the planning stages before the Spielberg movie, but we are fortunate to have the movie bring such national attention to the project.” The site, with its more than 500 primary documents online, is particularly helpful in sorting out the facts of the incident versus the theatrical interpretation. “The debate generated by the tension between movie making and history has been fascinating,” she said. Also working at the museum, said Funk, is\u00a0Jennifer Eifrig<\/strong> ’90, who serves as a development officer.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
