We were sorry to hear of the death of Emerson Reed, husband ofLibby MacDonald Milliken Reed<\/strong>, in January 1996. They had been married a little over two years and shared many happy times, attending concerts and other musical and cultural events. They both belonged to the local Episcopal Church. It is not easy to leave their lovely three-floor home, but it will be simpler to care for smaller quarters. The year has had many highlights for the Earles: A golden wedding anniversary, Ion’s 80th birthday, and son Michael’s birthday celebration with many family and friends from near and far. Betty now proudly possesses two new knee joints, which necessitated hospitalization and then convalescence at Osborne House, Queen Victoria’s summer residence on the Isle of Wight.
