Husband George does consulting around the country….In Hong Kong,\u00a0Dwight Harvie <\/strong>has been appointed director and general manager of Tanner Menzies, Ltd., a regional executive research firm. On a June trip with his daughter, Ayoko, he visited Bates and met in Boston withHarry Meline<\/strong>, and in Boothbay with daughter\u00a0Lisa<\/strong> ’83 and family, and had lunch with\u00a0Jonas Klein<\/strong>….Another recent retiree,\u00a0Helen Hendrickson Woodward<\/strong> has had time to travel to Europe in the past two years. She and husband Charles are volunteers one day a week at Waterbury Hospital, and “Chris” serves on a number of boards….Bill Hobbs<\/strong> returned to the Island of Iona, a very inviting place of quiet and solitude in Scotland, for the third time, on a mini-pilgrimage….TheLaird<\/strong>s now set the priorities for their retirement years.Carolann<\/strong> (McKesson<\/strong>) does aerobics and quilting, while\u00a0Bill<\/strong>does weight training and is restoring a 1931 Model A Ford. Gardening, visiting children, Elderhostel, and church work fill their days….Dick Liebe <\/strong>continues his summer field programs at Wesleyan University, where he has worked with earth science teachers for twenty-five years. He has reduced his work load to teaching only in the fall for a couple of years. He and\u00a0Jan <\/strong>(Truesdail `56<\/strong>) have bought a retirement home on Lake Keuka….Harry Meline<\/strong>‘s harmonies headquarters is no more. Since it closed, he plans to travel, and the Boarding Cat Farm still “putts” along. (Shouldn’t that be “purrs”?!)…Our sincere condolences to\u00a0Gordon Peaco<\/strong> on the April death ofJune<\/strong> (Johnson<\/strong>). We enjoyed having them at Reunion, and June will be very much missed….Walt Reuling<\/strong> is provost and dean of Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, Kentucky, where “the folks are friendly and the waitresses call you `Honey.'” He and\u00a0Margie <\/strong>(Terani `57<\/strong>) plan to retire to Vermont in a couple of years “where it is cold and expensive and cluttered up now with `flatlanders’ like us.”…Math Wizardry for Kids<\/em>, co-authored by\u00a0Phyllis Sawyer Williams<\/strong>and Margaret Kenda, is in its second printing. Phyl supervises some master’s degree students at the University of Maine and has a small counseling practice….Although he still practices law in Ann Arbor, Michigan,\u00a0John Toomey<\/strong> manages to return to Maine almost every year….Looking forward to a full year sabbatical,\u00a0Dick Weber<\/strong> still enjoys teaching. He says they may have to “use the hook” to drag him offstage….Trustee\u00a0Lynn Willsey <\/strong>played golf in Scotland, then he and\u00a0Beverly<\/strong> (Hayne <\/strong>’55) headed for three weeks in Australia and New Zealand with\u00a0Al<\/strong> ’53 and\u00a0Gail Molander Goddard <\/strong>’56.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
