Off Scott Anderson ’82 Goes, Into the Wild Blue Yonder<\/p><\/div>\n

Alumni have their last chance to see a jet-flying Bobcat this summer as Scott Anderson ’82 serves his final year with the Blue Angels, the Navy flight demonstration squadron based in Pensacola, Florida.Anderson joined the Blue Angels in 1992 after serving with Attack Squadron 174; the “Bulls” of VA-37, deployed aboard the\u00a0USS Forrestal; <\/em>and Strike Fighter Squadron 106. He has accumulated more than 4,100 flight hours and 285 carrier landings.<\/p>\n

Anderson flies “slot,” directly behind the flight leader in the Angels’ tight, diamond-shaped formation. The Angels fly the McDonnell Douglas F\/A-18 Hornet.<\/p>\n

This year, the Angels celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of their 1946 founding. In the last five decades, the Angels have flown for more than 260 million spectators worldwide.<\/p>\n
