This year’s keynote speaker and presenter Bryant Terry is an award-winning chef, food justice activist, and critically acclaimed author fighting for a more just and sustainable food system. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Groundbreaking and rich, his work illuminates the intersections that exist today between poverty, structural racism, and food insecurity, in order to pave a new, better path forward. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his 2021 book, Black Food: Stories, Art, and Recipes From Across The African Diaspora<\/em><\/em>, Bryant offers a stunning and deeply heartfelt tribute to Black culinary ingenuity, capturing the broad and divergent voices of the African diaspora in a way that\u2019s never been done before. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As he told NPR in 2021<\/a>, the cookbook is a “communal shrine to the shared culinary histories of the African diaspora.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
