UPDATE: Due to the college’s COVID-19 policy the two Friday, March 27th, Pysanky Ukranian egg decorating workshops with artist Lesia Sochor have been cancelled.

The Bates College Museum of art will host two Ukrainian egg decorating workshops with Lesia Sochor. Instructor Lesia Sochor is an artist of Ukrainian descent who lives in Brooks, Maine. She learned the ancient spring tradition of decorating Pysanky from her mother and has shared this craft in numerous workshops throughout the state.

Space is limited and registration is required. There will be two sessions with the first running from 11 to 1 PM and the second running from 3 to 5 PM. Children are welcome but those under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult! The fee for the workshop is $10 per person, through it is free for Bates students.
