Bachrach (American, 1899\u20131973)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Bachrach often photographed celebrities in full before cropping and enlarging the images to produce headshots. He concentrated on expressing emotion and thought in his photographs, modifying them to fit the needs of different media outlets. As a result, his images are full of energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Born in New York, Bachrach began working for motion picture companies Famous Players-Lasky Corporation and Paramount in the 1920s, and took production stills of Hollywood actor Gloria Swanson\u2019s films.
