Cobb (American, 1911-1976)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Cobb was an actor of stage, film, and television known for his Broadway work as well as having the lead role in the Western series <em>The Virginian.<\/em> He often played intimidating characters and respectful authority figures. Cobb originated the role of Willy Loman in <em>Death of a Salesman<\/em> in 1949 under director Elia Kazan and was praised by writer Arthur Miller on his performance.
