{"id":144,"date":"2010-06-03T16:50:00","date_gmt":"2010-06-03T16:50:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hub-dev.bates.edu\/music\/?page_id=144"},"modified":"2019-04-02T11:23:41","modified_gmt":"2019-04-02T15:23:41","slug":"american-string-band","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/music\/american-string-band\/","title":{"rendered":"American String Band"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>American String Band is an ensemble\u00a0dedicated to developing a repertoire of\u00a0fiddle music and song to share on and off\u00a0campus.<\/p>\n<p>Lewiston being the heavily\u00a0Franco-American community that it is, the\u00a0traditional French-Canadian fiddle music\u00a0of this area is central to our tune list,\u00a0which also delves into Irish, bluegrass\u00a0and\u00a0old-time dance music and song, and\u00a0all other music our various members bring\u00a0to the table. Fiddles are especially\u00a0wanted, while all other melodic and\u00a0percussive instruments are also\u00a0encouraged to join.
