Originally from Evian, France, Mezzo-Soprano Jo\u00eblle Morris has performed throughout Europe and the United States and is admired for her versatility, from the concert stage to the operatic arena, in intimate jazz settings and French cabaret, or simply sharing her gifts as voice teacher and coach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jo\u00eblle earned her bachelor’s degree in Voice Performance from the University of Colorado Boulder before completing a master’s degree in Vocal Pedagogy and Performance at the Lamont School of Music in Denver, Colorado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A seasoned voice instructor, Jo\u00eblle specializes in vocal technique and teaches a wide range of musical styles including Classical, Jazz, Musical Theater, Gospel, Rock and Pop. Many of her students have gone on to prestigious conservatories in Paris, Lyon, Geneva, Berklee College of Music, Boston University, Ithaca College and Yale Drama School. Jo\u00eblle has taught all ages and abilities from beginners to emerging professionals alike, both in France and in the United States, while keeping a busy singing career parallel to her teaching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An accomplished recitalist, she has appeared extensively across the United States and Europe. Recent career highlights include appearances at Jazz at Lincoln Center, a critically acclaimed performance as Paula in David Malloy’s chamber musical Octet<\/em> at the Portland Theater Festival, and the creation of the role of Mary Magdalene in the world premiere of Blood & Breath<\/em>, a Lucas Richman’s concept opera staged in Vatican City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A passionate chamber musician, Jo\u00eblle is the co-founding member of the Resinosa Ensemble which specializes in 20th<\/sup> century chamber compositions, and the Amethyst Chamber Ensemble<\/a>, a professional vocal and instrumental group based in Midcoast Maine.
