Miller-McCune.com highlights immigrant research by politics professor Clarisa Perez-Armendariz

The online magazine Miller-McCune.com highlights new research by Assistant Professor of Politics Clarisa Perez-Armendariz suggesting that the presence of Mexican immigrants in the U.S. helps democracy in Mexico. Writing in the January issue of Comparative Political Studies, Perez-Armendariz and co-author David Crow call migrants “agents of democratic diffusion who help strengthen democracy in their countries of origin.” Migrant workers also “absorb attributes of democracy in the host country and transfer them to people in their home countries.” View story in Miller-McCune.com from Dec. 1, 2009.
