The Cabot Star-Herald chronicles international travels of Matt Chance '11

The Cabot (Ark.) Star-Herald describes the international travels of native son Matt Chance ’11, who spent the summer working at an orphanage in Malawi in southeast Africa, then attended classes at Stockholm University in Sweden during the fall, with stops between in Ireland, England, France and Germany. “You don’t know what we’ve got here until you actually see 50-year-old women carrying water in five-gallon containers on their heads for two or three miles every day just so they can have some fresh water in their homes,” Chance tells reporter reporter Ed Galucki, who notes that Chance’s work in Malawi was coordinated through Bates professors.
