Public Opinion profiles three-sport standout Dobish '12

Lauren Dobish ’12  tells the Public Opinion newspaper in her hometown of Chambersburg, Pa., that being a three-sport varsity athlete (soccer, basketball, softball) “can get a little crazy, but I love it.” Writer Joel Rineer interviews each of Dobish’s coaches, including softball coach Gwen Lexow, who expresses great admiration for Dobish’s stamina. “One of the most remarkable things is Lauren’s had the most success in the last of the three sports. It is such a grind physically and mentally, especially at a school with the academic rigors of Bates. To be able to compete at such a high level during the spring is quite remarkable.” A psychology major, Dobish hit a school-record 15 doubles last spring, and her 41 hits are second all-time. Her .402 batting average ranked ninth in NESCAC. View story from the Public Opinion.
