Slideshow: This Month at Bates
Summer can mean rest and relaxation (the summer “daze” part), but it’s also a time for hard work. The summer edition of This Month at Bates shows Bates people, far and wide, pursuing their assignments with passion and dedication.
Among the 239 students doing Bates-funded summer internships, fellowships, or research work are the first cohort — 97 strong! — of interns with our new Purposeful Work Internship Program.
The program, a key part of the college’s Purposeful Work initiative, helps students test interests, build skills, develop networks, and reflect on what they’ve learned — and then connect those experiences back to their studies.
