In the words of Madeleine L'Engle, “a book, too, can be a star." The Bates community offers up over 200 "stars" in this year's book list.

Going strong since 1997 as an annual gift for graduating seniors (and a delight for the rest of us), here's the 25th edition of the Good Reads list of book recommendations by Bates folks near and far.

She was reading "The Namesake," a novel by Jhumpa Lahiri, he Guy Paulsen's memoir "Winterdance."
