July and August on a college campus can seem peaceful, even sleepy.<\/p>\n

But here’s a closer look at what happens when all those deadlines and stop-starts of the school year give way to summer’s true bounty: uninterrupted time for scholars and proteges to research and learn, explore and grow \u2014 leaps both intellectual and physical.<\/p>\n

From Ann Arbor to West Yorkshire, from Stonington to Boston, and here in Lewiston and Auburn, here’s summer at Bates.<\/p>\n\t\n\t
