The program emphasizes the creation of a cohesive body of work through sustained studio practice and critical inquiry.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/museum\/exhibitions\/current\/celebrating-peoples-history-iraq-veterans-against-the-war-ten-years-of-fighting-for-peace-and-justice\/\">Celebrating People&#8217;s History: Iraq Veterans Against the War \u2013 Ten Years of Fighting for Peace and Justice<\/a><\/strong>: This exhibition of posters and related materials showcases the eponymous portfolio, created in 2014 to mark the 10th anniversary of Iraq Veterans Against the War. IVAW is an advocacy group of military veterans and active-duty personnel opposed to the 2003\u201311 U.S. presence in Iraq. The portfolio features contributions from members of IVAW and the Justseeds Artists\u2019 Cooperative, along with allied veterans, artists and writers.
