Feb. 10 \u2014 NBC gives a big Bates shout-out as Olympian Dinos Lefkaritis \u201819 enters Olympic Stadium<\/h5>\n<p>Marching as a team of one \u2014 between Kyrgyzstan and Chinese Taipei \u2014 <a href=\"http:\/\/athletics.bates.edu\/sports\/alpineski\/2017-18\/releases\/20180202krfqrh\">Bates Olympian Dinos Lefkaritis \u201919<\/a> of Larnaca, Cyprus, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/news\/2018\/02\/14\/nbcs-olympic-sized-shout-out-to-bates-college-and-olympian-dinos-lefkaritis-19\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">drew an extended shout-out from NBC<\/a> announcers Mike Tirico and Katie Couric during Winter Olympics opening ceremonies last Feb. 9.<\/p>\n<p>Now back at Bates, Lefkaritis is completing his academic studies (he&#8217;s an economics major and pursuing the Combined Program for engineering) and skiing for the Bobcats.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/6177010821\/posts\/10155970549010822<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h5>2.
