(Photograph by Laura Sewall)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Five steps to make the most of this year\u2019s Mount David Summit<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/bates.zoom.us\/meeting\/register\/tJIqcOuqrzsjHNPsucuTcKRElzKB7tEOA4Rr\">Register, because it\u2019s required<\/a>. Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email that includes your Zoom URL.<br><\/li><li>Before Saturday, spend some time reviewing the summit\u2019s format. Much like a professional conference, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/summit\/#sessions\">the day features separate sessions<\/a> of concurrent events that begin at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 2:30 p.m., and 4 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time.<br><\/li><li>Pore over the array of topics <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/summit\/mount-david-summit-abstracts\/\">as described in the students\u2019 own words<\/a>. Here\u2019s a fascinating topic: how body-image dissatisfaction among Western women \u201ccan be exacerbated by the use of Instagram,\u201d to be presented by Maya Matlack \u201921 of Arlington, Mass.<br><\/li><li>&nbsp;When you come upon a presentation that grabs your interest, find its session and Breakout Room on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/summit\/#1\">this searchable list of Summit presentations<\/a>. Using the above example, we searched for \u201cInstagram\u201d and found that Matlack is presenting in Session 4 (beginning at 4 p.m.) in Breakout Room 9.<br><\/li><li>Finally, when you join the Summit via Zoom on Saturday, just click the Breakout Rooms icon at the bottom of your Zoom menu to find the student presentation you\u2019re interested in.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>As always, the various Summit sessions explore everything under the sun.
