But they do know about risk-assessment modeling, which is how the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration estimated the risk that lobster gear poses to whales. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Forecasting and other forms of risk assessment are commonly used in a variety of contexts, from&nbsp;criminal justice&nbsp;to&nbsp;health care,&#8221; they write. But for risk-assessment models to work &#8220;they require hard data that, as of now, is sorely lacking. It\u2019s all about understanding what people need, solving problems, and finding clients a place that they can call home, which really isn\u2019t that much different from social work.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When meeting with a client for the first time, &#8220;my goal is that the client talks more than me,\u201d Bayless said. \u201cI\u2019m really there to listen and understand what they need, what is important to them, and what is driving their decision.
