The performance will feature several unconventional compositions, including Lou Harrison&#8217;s &#8220;Threnody for Carlos Chavez&#8221; for viola and Indonesian gamelan.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The Bates College Jazz Band, conducted by Mark Manduca, will perform at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, in the Olin Arts Center Concert Hall.<\/p>\n<p>The concerts are free and open to the public.
