A New Hampshire native who now lives in Ellsworth, Maine, Jones tells Clayton that a supportive high school English teacher boosted her writing confidence. &#8220;I was always shy, always quiet; a smart-enough kid but not the kind who raised their hands and shouted out answers. Mr. Sullivan didn&#8217;t need me to shout out answers. He just needed me to write. And his belief?
