{"id":19013,"date":"2006-03-01T00:00:23","date_gmt":"2006-03-01T05:00:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/home.bates.edu\/?p=19013"},"modified":"2015-03-27T11:55:36","modified_gmt":"2015-03-27T15:55:36","slug":"nescac-bball","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/news\/2006\/03\/01\/nescac-bball\/","title":{"rendered":"Coffin, Reilly honored as NESCAC basketball awards are released"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href='https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/news\/files\/2006\/03\/coffin_7633_0.jpg'><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"180\" height=\"270\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/news\/files\/2006\/03\/coffin_7633_0.jpg\" class=\"attachment-medium alignleft\" alt=\"Meg Coffin\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The success of Bates College&#8217;s men&#8217;s and women&#8217;s basketball teams this season translated into awards announced by the New England Small College Athletic Conference on Wednesday.<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Meg Coffin captured the <a href=\"http:\/\/home.bates.edu\/views\/2006\/03\/01\/nescac-poy\/\">NESCAC&#8217;s Player of the Year award <\/a>for her efforts leading the Bobcats into the NESCAC championship game and into their second consecutive NCAA Division III tournament appearance.<\/p>\n<p><a href='https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/news\/files\/2006\/03\/barton_7581_0.jpg'><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"180\" height=\"270\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/news\/files\/2006\/03\/barton_7581_0.jpg\" class=\"attachment-medium alignright\" alt=\"Sarah Barton &#039;08\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Coffin (Westford, Mass.) was a natural pick as a\u00a0First-Team All-NESCAC player, while sophomore teammates Sarah Barton (Portsmouth, N.H.) and Matia Kostakis (Andover, Mass.) each earned spots on the All-NESCAC Second Team.<\/p>\n<p><a href='https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/news\/files\/2006\/03\/kostakis_7635_0.jpg'><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"180\" height=\"270\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/news\/files\/2006\/03\/kostakis_7635_0.jpg\" class=\"attachment-medium alignleft\" alt=\"Matia Kostakis &#039;08\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A NESCAC Championship finalist for the fourth consecutive season, the Bobcats (19-8) travel to Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, N.Y., on Friday to face Bridgewater (Va.)
