\n<\/strong>The tap sensation Herbin “Tamango” Van Cayseele lays his lyrical and complex rhythms down on top of some rockin’ live sounds. Bill “Crutch” Shannon creates elegant and fluid imagery with crutches, a skateboard and video. Followed by a post-performance discussion with the artists.<\/p>\n

\nInternationally acclaimed choreographer David Dorfman Dance and his six-member company perform “A Cure for Gravity” to the popular music of Joe Jackson, the epic hearted “Subverse” and the hilarious “What I Know About Cats.” Followed by a post performance discussion with the artists.<\/p>\n

\nAn annual favorite at the festival, this eclectic concert features
\nmulti-instrumentalists Tigger Benford, Jesse Manno and Mike Vargas, pianist Clark Stiefel and percussionists Gilles Obermayer and Manuel Wandji in a program of original and improvised music.<\/p>\n

\nPerformance: DENDY DANCE & THEATRE
\nThe brilliant and eclectic creator Mark Dendy and his troupe of eight present his zany, go-for-broke dance work “Rock and Roll: Classic Sweet,” set to the music of the 60s, 70s, and 80s. Followed by a post-performance discussion with the artists.<\/p>\n

\nPerformance: DIFFERENT VOICES
\nNew works by established and emerging dance artists from around the world, including Ann Carlson, David Neumann, Lisa Race, Mary Williford-Shade, Gabe Masson, Kim Itoh and others.<\/p>\n

Saturday, Aug. 14, Schaeffer Theatre, 1-5 p.m.
\nInformal Performance: YOUNG CHOREOGRAPHERS\/NEW WORKS
\n<\/strong>An adjudicated, informal showing of more than 24 new works by talented festival participants from around the world. Faculty members will provide insightful, critical feedback throughout the afternoon.<\/p>\n

Performance: STUDENT FINALE, Alumni Gym, 8 p.m., $5\/$2*
\nA celebration of diverse dance traditions. Come for an evening of
\nmodern, jazz and Afro-Caribbean works created by Ronald K. Brown, David Dorfman, Gabe Masson, Katiti King and Richard Gonzalez and performed by festival students. Highlighting the program will be a performance by local youth participating in the festival’s Youth Arts dance and music program under the direction of Jane Weiner.<\/p>\n
