An acclaimed trombonist, Eubanks has recorded six critically acclaimed CDs, including Wake Up Call<\/em>, Mental Images<\/em> and Karma<\/em>. He has toured throughout Europe and Japan. “Robin Eubanks is one of the key emerging voices of his generation,” The New York Daily News said. “Eubanks marathons as if the trombone was the easiest instrument to play at mercurial speeds,” Downbeat said of his track “Wake Up Call.”<\/p>\n Eubanks has played trombone since he was 8 and has studied theory, harmony and arrangement throughout high school and college. Eubanks moved to New York after graduating from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia.<\/p>\n Since his arrival in New York, Eubanks has enjoyed a wide range of musical experiences, including his position as musical director for Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers. He has arranged, composed and performed for McCoy Tyner’s Big Band and Slide Hampton’s Jazz Masters. Recently Eubanks was a featured soloist, composer and arranger with J.J. Johnson’s Brass Orchestra.<\/p>\n Eubanks is a member of the musically talented Eubanks family, which includes his brother Kevin, music director for The Tonight Show, and brother Duane, a trumpeter, who recently debuted on Eubanks’ CD Wake Up Call<\/em>.
