{"id":3846,"date":"2007-09-05T08:32:34","date_gmt":"2007-09-05T12:32:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/batesviews.net\/?p=3846"},"modified":"2022-10-25T09:14:08","modified_gmt":"2022-10-25T13:14:08","slug":"bates-bicyles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/news\/2007\/09\/05\/bates-bicyles\/","title":{"rendered":"Bates rolls out a fleet of bicycles"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/news\/files\/2007\/09\/72bikecoop0840.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"attachment-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/news\/files\/2007\/09\/72bikecoop0840-216x300.jpg\" alt=\"Students prepare to recruit Bates Bike Co-op members\" width=\"216\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This fall Bates College introduces the Bates Bikes, a fleet of 10 cruiser bicycles that belong to the newly created Bates Bike Co-op.\u00a0 Students, faculty and staff can join the co-op for a $10-fee and use the bikes for short trips on and off campus, says Julie Rosenbach, the college&#8217;s environmental coordinator.<\/p>\n<p>Membership in the co-op gives an individual a key to the locks that secure the bikes and the freedom to use the bikes on campus and in the greater Lewiston-Auburn area.
