Happy summer from Bates!<\/strong> Here\u2019s a listing of public events at the college from June 15 through Aug. 15, 2013.<\/p>\n

The Bates Dance Festival<\/strong><\/a> will proceed as always, but in other ways this is an unusual summer for the arts at the college.<\/p>\n

The Bates College Museum of Art<\/strong><\/a> is closed until Sept. 13 for the installation of an energy-saving LED lighting system<\/a><\/strong> that will improve the viewing experience for visitors.<\/p>\n

Continuing Bates’ long and popular tradition of free outdoor summer concerts are the new Concerts on the Quad<\/a><\/strong>. Replacing the Midsummer Lakeside Concerts, this series focuses on the blues.<\/p>\n

Admission<\/strong>: See individual Bates Dance Festival events for admission information. Concerts on the Quad are free. And Clean Sweep<\/strong><\/a> on June 15 only costs if you buy something! (And we hope you do.)<\/p>\n
