The Bates women’s rowing team claimed the first NCAA team championship in college history on May 30, edging defending champion Trinity College by one point.<\/p>\n

It was big news on both sides of the country. During the Baccalaureate Service back on campus, senior Cody Tracey announced the championships to a huge cheer<\/a>, right before he and his fellow Senior A Cappella singers performed Phillip Phillips\u2019 \u201cGone, Gone, Gone.\u201d<\/p>\n
