{"id":1287,"date":"2017-03-22T17:32:53","date_gmt":"2017-03-22T21:32:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/outing-club\/?page_id=1287"},"modified":"2024-12-03T15:50:34","modified_gmt":"2024-12-03T20:50:34","slug":"gear-rental-policy","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/outing-club\/gear-rental-policy\/","title":{"rendered":"Gear Rental Policy"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Rental Policy<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>All rentals are free of charge<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All rentals are limited to<strong> a maximum of 1 week from date of rental<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The renter assumes all financial responsibility for lost, stolen, or damaged equipment.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Damage that happens when using gear in an appropriate manner and regular wear and tear are not subject to charges<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any gear charges will be billed directly to your student billing account with the college<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The E-Room is not responsible for any injury caused while using gear. By checking out gear from the E-Room, you assume responsibility to rent gear that you are familiar with and to use gear according to manufacturer\u2019s recommendations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Renewal:<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Items may be renewed at additional <strong>1 week<\/strong> intervals for no additional deposit granted that the following procedure is followed:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The item(s) must be returned to the E-Room in the <strong>first 15 minutes of the rental hour<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The item(s) must be made available for rent by someone else for <strong>30 minutes<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>If still available, the item(s) may be rented for another week in the <strong>last 15 minutes<\/strong> of the hour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Late Return Policy&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>All gear orders are due back one week from the day of checkout, unless otherwise noted and agreed upon with an E-Room Manager. After one week has passed since the checkout date, a gear order is considered late, and the following policy applies.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Warning 1<\/strong> &#8211; Individual is emailed within 24 hours after gear was due and advised to return gear at earliest convenience. Late gear warrants a probationary period of 1 week of no checkouts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Warning 2<\/strong> &#8211; Individual is emailed one week after gear was due, and notified that if gear is not returned in 2 weeks since the return date, they will be charged the full replacement cost of the order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Warning 3<\/strong> &#8211; Individual is given <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-blue-bright-color\">a final warning three weeks<\/mark> after gear was due, and individual is charged replacement cost at the end of that week on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>*Replacement cost charge must be completed by Associate Director of Outdoor Education &amp;
