votes were taken, alliances were mashed, thoughts were had, but once the consensus was hashed out it was overwhelmingly potato sided<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lili and Owen went though this wonderful slideshow <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/presentation\/d\/1mz8049hHhOJyUHxrskavpqRarqNGdKnGLr6HOd7zNrM\/edit#slide=id.p\">BOC Leadership Kick Off<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Some points from said wonderful BOC Leadership Kick Off Slideshow:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Goals for the meeting&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Build community and excitement within the outing club<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Establish responsibilities and expectations for leadership roles<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Clarify processes and procedures (Bates Engage &amp; Itineraries)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fun and good times<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Responsibilities + Expectations for Leadership Roles!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Head Trip Leaders-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Support trip leaders in respective area<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lead two trips per semester &#8211; one intro level<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>New trip ideas<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Equity &amp; Inclusion Officer &#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Foster partnerships with groups on campus<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monthly meeting with OPMs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>DEIA Lens for program<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Community Liaison Officer &#8211;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>MATC<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Relationship building with local orgs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Connect students to LA\/Maine<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Outdoor Program Managers &#8211;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Work closely with Catie and BOC leadership to organize and facilitate BOC culture (trips, community, and everything in between)!&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Secretary\/Historian &#8211;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Meeting minutes\/archive<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Elections<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Leadership team archive<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Attendance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Social Media\/Marketing Officer-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Promote club activities through social media<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Create user friendly posts\/content<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Boost engagement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Leadership Team Action Items!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Head Trip Leaders:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Backcountry: Organize Backpacking trip before winter<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Frontcountry: Organize day trips that run on a regular basis, bring back Intro Hiking Series<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Climbing: Organize Evo trips (weekly or biweekly), look into ice climbing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Paddling: Organize a day trip (Bates -&gt; Bowdoin club collab?), organize trailer training with Catie and Hayden<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Surfing: Organize an overnight surf trip, continue surfing day trips<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Leadership Team:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Secretary\/Historian: Make meeting notes funny again, get photos from BOC events &amp; archive in the drive, etc.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Social Media: establish system for posting (with OPMs), post funny things, keep aesthetic consistent<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Equity &amp; Inclusion Officer: one affinity trip this semester, build relationships with other clubs\/affinity groups on campus<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Community Liaison: reach out to Ron (MATC), create opportunities for community engaged events\/opportunities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Trip Leader Responsibilities!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Lead two trips per academic year<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For your trips (we can help you with these):\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Create Itinerary for trip\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Check out the Google Drive, it&#8217;s got how-to\u2019s and templates!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Create event on Bates Engage\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Can draft events on Bates Engage but not have registration to go live till the time&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Will need Catie to approve events so no last-second Bates Engage work<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If running a trip that a similar one has been run before, can duplicate past one from Bates Engage and then just change it a bit<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When making Bates Engage: Put all details in the post (when\/where you will meet etc) in description, in case you forget to send a follow up email!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tell people in your description of event to check out the BOC website for information regarding no-show\/cancelation policy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To send emails\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to Bates Engage \u2192 square that says email \u2192 click on compose emails (top right) \u2192 pick who you want to send it to \u2192 compose email + write + send!&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Trip ideas!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>On campus water gun fight during short term (or any hot week)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Children at midnight &#8211; lets go do something silly!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Leif + Addy going to lead a day hike oct 6th if vans allow<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;Other important things!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Van info\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Now have own van (renting for year) &#8211;
